Our host families in Gozo are handpicked to ensure that they are friendly, open and eager to welcome new students in their home. By staying with a host-family, students can get a first-hand experience of the local life, food and discover Gozo’s charms beyond the tourist destinations.
When staying with a host-family, you will be treated as another member of the household. In respect towards the family, you’re also expected to adapt the family’s life and routine. All our homestay accommodation options in Gozo are located near the school and the neighbouring villages, in a rural and green area of the island. They are all a short walk or bus ride away from the school.
This option is offered on a half-board basis, with breakfast and dinner included. When choosing a homestay for your accommodation, it’s therefore important to inform us of any special diets, allergies or preference for a pet-free environment beforehand.
A BELS driver will greet you at the airport in Malta, and take you the ferry terminal in Cirkewwa. From here, you must catch a 20-minute ferry ride to Gozo, where another BELS driver will be waiting. Your driver in Gozo will take you directly to your host-family. On your first day, the family will explain everything you need to know about the household and the locality as well, to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
Bed sheets, towels and weekly cleaning is included. A few weeks before your arrival, our team will send you a host-family profile with a description of the family waiting to meet you in Gozo.
